New Deputy Director at the Federal Office of Communications

Bern, 05.06.2012 - Philippe Horisberger has been appointed by Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard as Vice-Director and new Head of the Surveillance and Radio Licences Division at the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM).

The 52 year old electronic engineer Philippe Horisberger has been employed at OFCOM since 1993. In 1997 he led an internal reorganisation project to prepare the Office for the liberalisation of the telecommunications market and to integrate the tasks of the former Telecom PTT. Since 1998 he has headed the Frequency Planning Section in the Frequency Management Division where, among other things, he led the Swiss delegation at international conferences.

The position became available because the previous Deputy Director, Véronique Gigon, assumed the role as DETEC Deputy Secretary General in March this year.
