Swiss radio stations according to programme category

In 2011 music was responsible for by far the largest proportion of airtime among all radio programme services.

Music accounted for 74% of total airtime among private radio stations, 66% for the SRG SSR and 72% for complementary radio stations.

As a proportion of airtime, current affairs accounts for a higher percentage of SRG SSR output (15%) than for commercial (9%) or complementary private radio stations (7%).

Among commercial private broadcasters as well as complementary radio stations more airtime is devoted to entertainment (13%) than for the SRG SSR (7%). In comparison to 2010 the entertainment proportion of the complementary radio stations has clearly decreased (13% vs 17%).
