Federal Communications Commission (ComCom)

The Federal Communications Commission (ComCom) is an independent regulatory authority nominated by the Federal council.

The ComCom is the body which grants licences to telecoms services providers, as well as licences for the users of radiocommunications frequencies and universal service licences.

In addition, it approves national numbering plans and supervises application of number portability and the free choice of supplier. It also lays down interconnection conditions, in the first instance, in cases where the partners cannot reach agreement. It has delegated some of its tasks to OFCOM.
