Spectrum strategy

The spectrum strategy is part of the national frequency allocation plan. Its goal is to show how the frequency spectrum might be used by radio services in the near and distant future.

Among other things, the goal of the strategy is to enable users of frequencies to prepare for changes in good time and to use the spectrum as efficiently as possible, avoiding interference as far as possible.

In this context the following aspects are significant:

  • Is the available frequency band intended for commercial or non-commercial applications?
  • Is the frequency band available exclusively to one radio service or is it allocated to multiple services?
  • Is a licence required for the utilisation of the frequency band?
  • Is the frequency band a harmonised frequency band or is it a non- harmonised frequency band?
  • Is the frequency range available solely for civil use or is it a frequency range which is allocated to civil and military administrations, or is it a frequency range which can be used only by the military?
