Amount and use of reception fees
For private individuals, the monthly fee is CHF 14.10 for radio reception and CHF 24.40 for television reception. Most of the annual revenue of CHF 1.2 billion is used to finance the radio and television programmes of SRG SSR idée suisse, but private broadcasters also receive a proportion.

Anyone who wishes to receive radio/television programmes in Switzerland must register with Billag AG – preferably in writing. Anyone who is subject to registration must pay the fees. However, with regard to the obligation to register and to pay fees, there are restrictions, special regulations and exceptions.
