Taking international practice into account, OFCOM determines the equipment class and the apparatus comprising them. A class includes types of equipment considered to be similar and the interfaces for which this equipment is intended. One apparatus may belong to several classes of equipment (art. 5 TIO).
Classes:
- Telecommunications Equipment, which can be used without restrictions, license or authorisation (Harmonised 'Class 1 Equipment' according to decision 2000/299/CE):
