Media journalists and quality assurance in private radio and private television

OFCOM has commissioned and has now published two media science studies on the professional reality of media journalism and on quality assurance.

The Institute for Journalistic Studies and Media Research (Institut für Publizistikwissenschaft und Medienforschung - IPMZ) at Zurich University, under the leadership of Prof. Heinz Bonfadelli, researched the professional reality for journalists working on a day-to-day basis for private radio and television stations. The Institute for Applied Media Studies at Zurich’s Winterthur University (IAM,) under the leadership of Prof. Vinzenz Wyss, analysed the mechanisms and practice of quality assurance in eleven radio and television stations chosen as examples.
