Apparatus must be identified with a conformity mark. Either the Swiss "CH" or the European "CE" mark.
Apparatus which is placed on the market must be marked in such a way that it can be clearly identified. It must be marked with the following information:
- Type designation;
- Series;
- Serial number;
- or other appropriate information.
Furthermore, the name, the company or the registered trade mark of the manufacturer and if the latter is not based in Switzerland, in the European Union or in the European Economic Area the importer and their postal addresses must be indicated.
If these indications are not possible because of the type or size of the apparatus, this information must be provided on the apparatus packaging or in an accompanying document.
