Declaration of conformity

The declaration of conformity is a statement that apparatus meets the essential requirements. It is drawn up by the manufacturer or its agent, and it is continuously updated.

The declaration of conformity for apparatus bearing the conformity mark according to Annex 1 number 1 must be drawn up in accordance with the specimen in Annex 4 para. 1.

The declaration of conformity for apparatus bearing the "CE" conformity mark (Annex 1, no. 2) must be drawn up in accordance with the specimen in Annex IV of Directive 2014/30/EU.

If the apparatus is subject to multiple regulations requiring a declaration of conformity, a single declaration must be drawn up. A dossier consisting of several individual declarations is equivalent to a single declaration.

The declaration of conformity must be drawn up or translated into one of the official languages of Switzerland or English.

The manufacturer, its agent, or, if neither of these persons is based in Switzerland, the importer, must be able to present a copy of the declaration of conformity at OFCOM's request within a reasonable time (normally 10 working days). This declaration of conformity must be archived for ten years from the date of placing on the market. In the case of placing on the market of a series of apparatus, the period runs from the date of placing on the market of the last item of apparatus in the series.
