Vote in favour of revising the RTVA will reduce the radio and television fee for most households

Biel/Bienne, 16.03.2015 - The electorate can vote on the revision of the Federal Radio and Television Act (RTVA) on 14 June 2015. This should replace today's device-dependent reception fee with a universal fee and will be adapted to technological developments. As the fee would be paid by more households, it will be possible to reduce the fee per household from CHF 462 to CHF 400 per year. For companies, the fee is graduated according to turnover, and companies with a low turnover will not have to pay fees. According to the Head of DETEC Doris Leuthard, speaking in Berne today regarding discussions of the Federal Council's position, the new system is simple and fair. Revision of the RTVA will also strengthen local radio and television stations with public service mandates.
