No new regulatory requirement for social media

Bern, 10.05.2017 - In its status report on the legal basis for social media published on 10 May, the Federal Council came to the conclusion that there is currently no requirement for new regulatory measures. Regulatory projects such as the revision of the Data Protection Act and work to enhance youth media protection will improve protection of social network users in Switzerland in the medium term. Developments, also at the international level, however, should continue to be monitored.
