Collection of radio and television reception fees: three companies invited to tender
Biel-Bienne, 17.06.2005 - The DETEC is inviting three companies to submit bids to take over the soon-to-be-awarded mandate for collection of radio and television reception fees. The three companies were selected on the basis of a market analysis by the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM). It is expected that the DETEC will decide at the beginning of 2006 which of the three companies will be awarded the contract. At present, collection is handled by Billag AG, a subsidiary of Swisscom. The contract will run until the end of 2007.
