According to a DETEC recommendation, Switzerland will be divided into 13 regional TV coverage areas with licence fee contributions. Planning in relation to VHF radio sees little change: increased competitiveness of local broadcasters, though no new coverage areas for additional VHF stations.
How many private broadcasters should receive licence fee contributions in future? What should the regional coverage areas look like? These issues are at the centre of the planning guidelines which the Federal Council will enact next year. DETEC launched a public consultation on the core points. It ended the 22th of January.
