Philipp Metzger has been Director General of the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) since 1 January 2014.
Philipp Metzger was Deputy to the Director of the Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union ITU based in Geneva. His previous posts at OFCOM included Vice Director and Head of the Telecom Services Division from 2007 and Deputy Director General from 2012. Before that he worked in Switzerland and abroad in law firms, in the IT sector and at the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). He is a qualified Swiss attorney and holds a Master's Degree from the College of Europe. Philipp Metzger is a member of the ITU/UNESCO Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
