Anyone wishing to use the radiocommunications frequency spectrum must obtain a licence. The use of the frequency spectrum up to 3000 GHz generally requires a licence.

Most applications can be submitted online via the virtual counters.
The following services are available on the eOFCOM portal:
- Application for terrestrial mobile radio licences (fixed or temporary)
- Application for temporary satellite radio licences
- Tx status search for microwave sites.
The following services have been available since 20 November 2023 on the eGovernenant portal of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC):
- Application for the allocation of an amateur radio call sign
- Application for allocation of a call sign for data transmission on general-purpose radio frequencies (CB)
- Announcement for a radiocommunication installation on board an aircraft
- Notice for a mobile aeronautical land station
- Registration for radiocommunications equipment on a pleasure craft (yacht) on the high seas
- Advertisement for radiocommunications equipment on a boat on the Rhine
- Advertisement for a commercial boat installation on the high seas
- Search among the call signs used by target operators
New customers must register on the portal. Registration is via the CH-Login service offered by the Swiss Confederation and is free of charge. The "Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)" section contains the necessary instructions.
Are you already an OFCOM customer but did not have an account on our previous eOFCOM portal? If so, please contact us at kf-fk@bakom.admin.ch before registering and logging on to the new portal for the first time. As soon as we have confirmed this, you will be able to register and make your request.

Charges and fees
If you want to operate a radio equipment, you must pay fees depending on the radio application. The information on this page will enable you to determine the amount of the corresponding fees.
