Directives on the security and availability of telecommunication infrastructures and services

The goal of these directives on the security and availability of telecommunication infrastructures and services is to specify the security requirements of the legislature so that the affected parties can provide these in a coordinated fashion and increase consumer confidence. In addition, the guidelines define minimum security levels which each telecommunication services provider should ensure in order to contribute to the reliability and availability of the national telecommunications network.

However, mobile radio licensees operating fifth-generation mobile radio communication networks (5G) or beyond are subject to the provisions of Articles 96e and 96g paragraph 1 of the Ordinance on Telecommunications Services (OTS; SR 784.101.1) and the technical and administrative regulations on the security of networks and services operated by mobile radio licensees (SR 784.101.113/1.13). These include the principles set out in the directives.
