The consumer price index of the Swiss Federal Statistical Office (FSO) measures price development based on a basket of goods and services that includes the most important consumer goods of private households. The results published by the FSO make it possible to understand the evolution of prices for detailed aggregates, and in particular for those concerning telecommunication services.

Thus, the item "telecommunication services" (item 8014) which is in group 8 ("communications") aggregates the following three sub-items :

fixed network communications (item 8042),
communication on mobile network (item 8018)
and combined offers on fixed and mobile networks (item 8045).

The following table shows the three sub-indices and their aggregates. It can be seen that the overall price of telecommunication services rose by 0.9% between 2023 and 2024. This increase is primarily due to higher prices for communications on mobile networks (+1.8%). Prices for communications services on fixed networks have risen by 0.3%, and those for combined offers by just 0.1%.
