Award of mobile telephony frequencies
The Federal Communications Commission (ComCom) has instructed the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) to prepare for awarding the mobile radio frequencies that will become available in 2029. In the interests of competition and transparency, ComCom is planning a public tender for these frequencies, probably in 2026. In this context, OFCOM has drawn up draft tender documents and published them on 14 october 2025. Interested parties have until 5 December 2025 to comment on these documents as part of a consultation process aimed in particular at mobile network operators planning to participate in the frequency award procedure.

Location of radio transmitters
Switzerland is supplied with broadcasting services (radio and television programmes) and telecommunications services (mobile telephony) via radio transmitters. The transmitter sites are shown on an overview map.
National Frequency Allocation Plan
The National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) is the binding basis for frequency use. The Technical interface regulations (RIR) referenced therein describe the prerequisites for frequency use, such as transmission power, frequency bands and licensing requirements.
Maritime radiocommunication examinations
You will find below information about beacons in the maritime service.
Surveillance and Checks
Radio frequency spectrum is a limited natural resource. OFCOM ensures that users have access to this asset without any interference. Electrical devices and telecommunications equipment can have an unwanted impact on the frequency spectrum and impair communication. A radio can transmit on frequencies that are allocated to security services, for example, or a licensee might be using more equipment than they have reported, which can increase radio traffic considerably.
Frequency use with or without licences
OFCOM is your interlocutor if you intend to use the frequency spectrum with an installation of radiocommunication.
