Market access of radiocommunications equipment
To be offered, placed on the market or used, radiocommunications equipment has to fulfill all applicable legal requirements. The whole of these requirements forms the conditions for placing on the market and use. The information published by OFCOM is limited to the requirements related to the law on telecommunications. They do not give any information on requirements rising from other legislations (for example environmental protection, toys...).

Conformity assessment
Conformity assessment procedures describe the steps required to asses the equipment's compliance to the essential requirements. Several conformity assessment procedures are available. They are described in annexes 2 to 4 of the ordinance of 25 November 2015 on telecommunications installations (FAV).
Technical documentation
The technical documentation must provide evidence of conformity of the radiocommunications equipment with the essential requirements. It must cover the design, the production and operation of the equipment and include the following:
Declaration of conformity "Switzerland"
With the declaration of conformity the manufacturer or his authorised representative declares, that the radiocommunications equipment complies with the essential requirements. The declaration of conformity is to be issued by the manufacturer or his authorised representative based in Switzerland. If the radiocommunications equipment is subject to multiple regulations requiring a declaration of conformity, a single declaration must be issued. A dossier consisting of several individual declarations is regarded as a single declaration.
Declaration of conformity "EU"
With the declaration of conformity the manufacturer or his authorised representative declares, that the radiocommunications equipment complies with the essential requirements. The declaration of conformity is to be issued by the manufacturer or his authorised representative based in Switzerland. Common charging interface
Mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, headsets, headsets, portable video game consoles, portable speakers, e-readers, keyboards, mice, portable navigation systems and headphones that are charged by a wired charging device must be equipped with a USB-C charging interface (EN IEC 62680-1-2: 2022) from 28 December 2024. Laptops will also have to be equipped with a USB-C charging interface from 28 April 2026.
