Mobile terrestrial radio communication
Non-public mobile terrestrial radio communication is a means of transmitting data via radio. Users include agricultural, industrial, commercial and service sector companies, as well as public administrations and recreational companies. A mobile terrestrial radio communication network typically consists of a fixed radio base station with a number of associated mobile stations.

Licence application for radiocommunications equipment in frequency class A
Transmission of operational communications in frequency class A. This primarily involves voice radio or data transmission. The purpose, as well as the technical and operational requirements (frequency, power, area of operation, etc.), are specified in the network description. The telecommunications installation used must comply with the technical regulations. Typical users include police, fire departments, ambulance services, taxis, railways, transport companies and construction firms for applications such as: issuing work orders, co-ordinating fire-fighting and rescue operations, vehicle dispatch, radio systems for shunting, communication with crane operators, etc.
The estimated processing time for the granting of a permanent licence is approximately 20 business days. This timeframe may be significantly extended – in certain cases by three to six months – particularly where frequency coordination with Switzerland’s neighbouring countries is required, or for other technical or regulatory reasons.

Application for a fixed-term licence for mobile terrestrial radio communications
Transmission of operational communications, primarily voice radio, during temporary sporting events, cultural events, construction or maintenance work, etc. A temporary licence for mobile terrestrial radio communications may be granted for 10, 20 or 30 days or more.
The estimated processing time for issuing a fixed-term licence is approximately 10 business days. This timeframe may be significantly extended – in certain cases by three to six months – particularly where frequency coordination with Switzerland’s neighbouring countries is required, or for other technical or regulatory reasons.
