Regional TV: the challenges
Regional TV broadcasters, both in Switzerland and in other European countries, are confronted by a difficult situation and an uncertain future. In many cases their financial situation is strained, and audience interest remains somewhat limited. These are the results of a comparative study performed by the Wagner Hatfield consultancy on behalf of OFCOM. However, the authors also highlight exemplary approaches and initiatives which indicate how regional television could be strengthened in the future.
