Licences for Non-Public Networks (NPNs)
In Switzerland, the 3,400–3,500 MHz frequency band is available for NPNs. NPNs enable universities, companies and organisations to operate their own broadband network within a defined local area, tailored to their specific needs. Applications for the necessary radio licences can be submitted to OFCOM.
New terms of use for NPNs have been in force since 1 April 2026. They are the result of a market analysis and consultation with stakeholders carried out by OFCOM.
