The Radio Technology Section:
- functions as OFCOM's technological competence centre (Think Tank) for radiocommunications;
- identifies at an early stage the implications of new wireless technologies for Switzerland;
- establishes system engineering standards;
- is responsible for spectrum engineering tasks (compatibility and interference calculations in co-operation with other sections);
- develops scenarios for new frequency plans necessary for the introduction of new radiocommunications services;
- works proactively in international bodies (ITU-R, CEPT, ETSI, EBU);
- co-ordinates and represents the Swiss point of view on technical questions;
- maintains the scientific contacts with members of the research, development and industry sector.
