The Market Access and Conformity Section:
- centre of competency for market access and conformity of telecommunications equipment and for the electromagnetic compatibility of electrical apparatus and installations;
- verifying and ensuring the technical conformity of telecommunications equipment on the Swiss market;
- verifying and ensuring the technical conformity of electrical apparatus and installations on the Swiss market in the field of electromagnetic compatibility;
- active cooperation and representation of Swiss interests in the corresponding European Union regulatory committees as well as in other major international technical organisations (TCAM, EMC WP, ADCO, CEPT, ...);
- ensuring the possibility of rapid market access for telecommunications equipment on the Swiss market, in particular for new technologies, taking into account the technical safety of the equipment;
- informing and advising customers in the area of telecommunications equipment and electromagnetic compatibility of electrical apparatus and installations (market access, technical aspects, regulations, ...);
- in charge of market surveillance of telecommunications equipment and electromagnetic compatibility of electrical apparatus and installations;
- special office within the framework of international agreements concerning conformity assessment, also in relation to the designation of conformity assessment agencies and the implementation of non-tariff measures.
