The Radio Licences Section:
- granting of licences for commissioning radiocommunications equipment and networks (radiocommunications for professional use, for maritime or aircraft navigation, ham radio) are granted;
- organisation of examinations for maritime radio operators and rhine radiotelephone service as well as examinations for amateur radio operators, providing examiners and awards the corresponding certificates of competence;
- representing Switzerland in major specialist organisations at national and international level;
- negotiation of reciprocal agreements with foreign administrations concerning the use of telecommunications equipment in Switzerland and abroad.
