The 23 channels in the 35.000 MHz to 35.220 MHz range are available in Switzerland exclusively for radio controlled model aircraft. The 18 channels in the 40 MHz band cannot be used for model aircraft.
The 18 channels in the range 40.715 MHz to 40.985 MHz which were available for the remote radio control of model aircraft could continue to be used for model aircraft until 31 December 2012. These channels are shared with other users, therefore interference-free operation cannot be guaranteed.
Consequences for radio remote controls:
Radio remote controls on the 18 channels in the frequency range 40.715 MHz - 40.985 MHz may be placed on the market only if the following requirements are also fulfilled:
- User information must be complemented in such a way that the user is made aware that equipment operated in Switzerland in the frequency range 40.715 MHz - 40.985 MHz is exclusively for models which are intended to be used on the ground (e.g. model cars, model boats).
- The packaging must bear the indication of a restriction in Switzerland (more information).
