Media Structure Report

The Media Structure Report analyses the development of television, radio and online media in the Swiss media landscape. It provides an overview of the supply structure, financing models, programme content and the use of media offerings.

Digitalisation is changing the media industry. Traditional mass media, such as radio and television, are faced with new competition for the audience's attention in the form of new players and innovative offerings, particularly in the online market. Usage is decreasing, advertising revenues are falling. The production and distribution of content is also changing as a result of digitalisation. All these developments have resulted in structural changes in the media landscape. OFCOM's structural report maps these changes and their effects on the Swiss media landscape. The report was compiled for the first time in 2020 with data from 2015 to 2020. This second edition of the report covers the years 2015 to 2022 and, as in the first edition from 2020, focuses on the situation of the public service and radio and television in general. This edition also covers journalistic online media in Switzerland. The aim is to create an instrument that provides a reliable basis for decisions on the future of the Swiss media.

.The reports are available in German, French and Italian.
